Trust & safety
The standards behind every Servlets job
Verification, privacy and dispute handling are not add-ons — they are the product.
Identity verification (KYC)
Both households and providers complete Know-Your-Customer checks. We verify a government photo ID and match it to a live selfie. We store only the last four digits of any ID number — never the full number or a scan beyond what a reviewer needs to approve it.
- Workers: ID (front & back), selfie, address proof, police verification.
- Business owners: ID, business registration, GST certificate.
- Households: ID and address proof before posting their first job.
Background checks for sensitive work
Elder companions, child guardians, home attendants and all in-home categories require a valid police verification certificate and at least two references before a provider can bid.
Privacy during bidding
Until you accept a bid, providers see only your locality and a masked phone number. Job photos are stripped of location metadata. Full contact details are exchanged only after both parties sign the agreement.
Money protection
The accepted amount is held in escrow when the agreement is signed and released to the provider only after you confirm the work — or after a dispute review. The 12% platform fee is shown to both sides before anyone commits.
Disputes
Either party can open a dispute from the job page. Escrow is paused while Servlets reviews the signed agreement, the message history and any photos, normally within three business days. Outcomes are recorded against both accounts.
Reporting
Report unsafe behaviour from any job or profile page, or email safety@servlets.local. Serious reports lead to immediate suspension pending review.
