Terms of service
The rules for using Servlets as a household, worker, business or organisation.
1. What Servlets is
Servlets is a marketplace that connects households and organisations with independent workers and local businesses. Servlets is not the employer of any provider and is not a party to the work agreement, which is formed directly between the customer and the provider.
2. Accounts & eligibility
You must be 18+, provide accurate information, complete required verification, and keep your credentials secure. One person, one account.
3. Bidding & agreements
- Bids are binding offers for the stated scope, price and timeframe.
- Accepting a bid creates a mutual agreement that both parties e-sign before work begins.
- The agreement records scope, price, the 12% platform fee, provider payout and cancellation terms.
- Changes to scope or price require a new written agreement.
4. Payments
The accepted amount is collected into escrow on signature and released to the provider on customer confirmation, less the platform fee. Organisation discounts are applied at checkout and settled separately with the organisation.
5. Business owners & employees
A business owner is responsible for its employees’ conduct on the platform, for lawful wage arrangements with them, and for assigning a verified employee to each accepted job. The relationship between an owner and its employees is declared and acknowledged by both at onboarding.
6. Organisations
Organisation contracts define the benefit model, discount, eligible employees and billing. Servlets shares only enrolment status — not job details — with organisation admins.
7. Conduct
No harassment, discrimination, off-platform circumvention to avoid fees, fake reviews, or misrepresentation of skills or verification.
8. Suspension
We may suspend or remove accounts for safety, fraud, repeated cancellations, or breach of these terms. Funds already earned for completed work are still paid out.
9. Liability
Servlets provides the platform “as is”. Providers are responsible for the quality and safety of their work; customers for accurate job information and safe site access.
10. Changes
We will give notice of material changes and record your re-acceptance.
